Reverend Dr. Helena Fontes is the Founder and CEO of NewView Institute, which is a non-profit 501 ( c ) (3) organization, that delivers programming through counsel, training, psycho- educational groups, the arts, and spiritual support for both offenders and survivors of domestic/intimate partner violence and other such violent crimes.  Dr. Fontes is a Certified Domestic Violence and Anger Management Specialist-1 through the National Anger Management Association (NAMA).  In addition, she is a Mental Health Clinician and a Board-Certified Professional Hospice Chaplain. She is a graduate of Regent University where she earned her D. Min. in Clinical Pastoral Education, graduating with a 3.9 GPA.  Her research focus was the Promotion of Domestic Violence Awareness for the Leadership of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Germantown. Dr. Fontes graduated December 2015. And on May 21, 2011, she graduated from Palmer Theological Seminary, where she earned her Master of Divinity degree.  Dr. Fontes completed her course work in Counseling and Psychology in 2019 also while attending Regen University.  Dr. Fontes completed her residency in Clinical Pastoral Education at Christiana Healthcare System in Newark, DE on August 16, 2012. And she was Ordained on May 4, 2013. Reverend Dr. Fontes is an Associate Minister at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church. She is a Social Justice Minister, who has a concentration on gender equality.  Most recently, Dr. Fontes was asked to take on a new role with the Sentencing Foundation as Trauma Counseling Coordinator. This Foundation was Founded by Judge Stephanie Sawyer. Although overwhelming at times, Dr. Fontes achieves her goals by developing an eclectic approach towards healing, for herself and those that she serves. This includes Drama Therapy, Spirituality, Narrative and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her goal is to meet each individual where they are and lead them to where they can be with guidance, prompting, nurturing and love! Dr. Fontes believes that Transformation is the key to success, and healing the soul is the catalyst that leads to new beginnings; she models this through her work as a Playwriter. Her most notable play is, Institutions: Hiding Behind the Lipstick, Silenced No More, which is available on YouTube. She is the writer, actor, singer and producer of this body of work.
