Valarie McDuffie
Chief Financial Officer
Valarie McDuffie brings over two decades of progressive leadership in finance, operations, and strategic planning across higher education and nonprofit organizations. She is currently serving as the CFO and Head of Operations at the Philadelphia Museum of Art where she oversees a $70M budget, and just under a $600M endowment. Previously, she served as Interim Vice President of Finance and Treasurer at The College of New Jersey, overseeing a $270M budget, $86M endowment, and comprehensive risk management programs. Prior to that, she was Senior Associate Dean and CFO at Rutgers University Law School, managing a $90M budget and implementing responsibility-centered management practices. Earlier roles at Temple University and other institutions honed her expertise in budgeting, capital planning, ERP implementations, and operational improvements.
She is deeply motivated by mission-driven work and finds TSF’s values and mission closely aligned with her own. Throughout her career in finance, operations, and higher education, she has consistently sought opportunities to contribute to organizations that prioritize equity, access, and community impact. She is particularly drawn to TSF’s efforts to address recidivism and create pathways of opportunity for marginalized communities, and believes sustainable change requires both systemic accountability and community empowerment. She brings to TSF her expertise in financial stewardship, strategic planning, leadership and risk management in service of an organization whose mission resonates strongly with her personal values.
